Fire Call
We had another rescue call at the Lock and Dam near Dresbach yesterday. Fortunately, this one has a good ending. Last year, we spent a week recovering an entire family that drowned near the dam.
Be careful near dams!

Silence on the Radio
Yesterday I drove to Owatonna, Minnesota and back to La Crescent. It is a two hour drive one way. I monitored the local repeaters and 146.52 simplex the whole way. The ONLY voice that I heard was a voice ID’er on the Rochester repeater.

Why is it that gas prices rise quickly on news of oil shortage, but it takes weeks to see the price go back down?
